Woke up in a lot of pain, usually its waist down, inclusive of the hip on one side, this time it was my back. Not the first time I've experienced it, but fuck...oww. Combination of shaking like crazy, and PAINFUL back cramp all the way up. Searched the place with a fine-toothed comb and eventually found a remaining strong muscle relaxant pill from my last script refill. Then crawled into the oven, keeping my dressing gown wrapped tight round me to keep out the extreme cold I was feeling at the time.

Beyond the pale. Way, way beyond the pale.

Have been watching 'Horrid Henry' with the urchin.  He has suddenly dropped Lara Croft in favour of the said Henry.   It is about a little boy who is...yup quite horrid.  Just kids stuff really -  stinkbombs, water bombs, plastic spiders, etc.   There is one episode where Henry gets sent to his room and writes 'Help Me' notes to his mate next door and launches them through his bedroom window in the form of paper planes.

Hayley, my next door neighbour has just been round with a soggy rain soaked paper plane she found plastered to her car.  Looked out the window and there are several floating about in the wind.

She wasn't 100% sure it was the urchin as he had signed it 'Henry'.   :zoinks:

I command you to get better soon.  Back - you'd better back off, Hip - give a hip-hip hooray and GTF out of there.

Sorted out and tested about ten electric motors while cleaning my basement workshop
Cleaned and put away the good ones threw the others in the scrap pile
Cleaned and sorted other stuff in the basement
Threw sand on the icy  walks and driveway
Called my mom

Laundry, checked neighbors kerosene heater, pulled an old one I picked up a few years back out of the shed and took it completely apart, removed a mouse nest from the bottom  ;), cleaned and got it ready and working.

Between that one and the one in the garage I should be okay if the power goes out.

Washing, folding, mending etc.
Cooking and making a nice snack.
Taking care of kids and cats.
Extended not planned phone call, with another not planned, also very long, phone call following the first.
Dishes, etc.
And it felt like a pretty relaxed day too, despite the phone conversations.

Parts-just don't forget to gut the things for copper wire, theres a fair bit in bigger motors, enough to make it worth adding to a 'slop bin' for nonprecious but valuable metal scraps.

Keep that up long enough, and you get a nice fat refund out of it, with todays prices on copper. All the Cu or brass turnings on the lathe in the shed get saved in a scrap and turnings bucket, and cashed in, and I'll salvage anything from a bricked window with lead strips lying in the street, to someone's skip full of trash, lead roofing scrap, copper pipes, etc (or if its an abandoned, derelict building, not be too averse to throwing a few bricks myself once the pipework and if lucky, boiler, hot water tank etc. remain still unclaimed :P), I even add wheel balancing lead weights that fall into the gutter from car wheels to the pile, seeing it as every gram closer to a kilo, and every kilo closer to a slap up hot dinner and a crate of cold beer to relax after slogging backpacks of metal scrap to the yard to cash it in. Car batteries (best left whole, the acid in a drained battery isn't too concentrated, not enough to make it worth my while, although lead salts sometimes do get called for such easy salvage for my uses), but the acid in there is HEAVY, and gets counted in along with the price of the scrap too if the place isn't run by a complete tosser.

I strip all the motors with the exception of the little stepper motors. If you have the time it's worth it...sometimes people don't though.

Have a load piling up under the carport tarped, waiting until the weather gets a little better. :P

Got kids to school, sent some emails. Had washing machine running, took care of cats.
Put the kettle on, for some tea, and forgot about that.

BRB.
