Knee injection, paid a bill, breakfast, shopped for OTC items, fed family.

I made coffee and logged on here.
I also registered for a conference to be held in Prague next year.

You should be  :viking: when going to Prague, like buying stuff at the black market. You're familiar with the city now.

I love Prague. It's one of my favourite cities in Europe. Not much time for the black market, though, and not really much point to buying anything. I'm flying through Heathrow, the security checks would make it very difficult to take anything untoward with me back home.

Why don't you drive? You have a fast car, and you can drive very fast in both Germany and the Czech Republic!  :viking:

Driving there from Kiel takes around 7 hours, the ferry from Gothenburg to Kiel roughly 14 hours more. I don't have the time, even if I did want to buy something illegal which I don't.

Add to that the time of year. In February, there will be snow, which means that the Czech roads will be slow, easily adding another hour to the trip. The petrol is costly, especially for a Jag going at past 200 kmph, and the four-day parking fees even more so. My employer wouldn't pay for any of it.

Compare that with 4 hours flying time, plus some more at the airport(s). I can check in a week in advance, which means that I only have to drop off luggage before going through security, IF I need more than my cabin luggage, which I usually don't.

Nah, flying is much faster and much easier.

I do like driving on the Autobahn, though. It's great fun!

Today, I cancelled our cable TV.  We (PA's family and mine) have had cable since it was available here (around 1970).  Our neighborhood has been upgraded with fiber optics and we are now with ATT-Uverse.  A few more channels (BBCAmerica yea!!!!!!) and much faster internet.

Installation took over 8 hours and we had to have the guy back today because the phone line was screwed up.  But I'm optimistic that things will be okay.

I have looked after a sick little urchin.  He came home from school yesterday after the school christmas lunch and complained about tummy ache then sick sick sick sick.

He is sleeping a lot today and not sick since this morning so hope he is getting over it.

I love that little urchin so much and wish I could just go  "ta daa" and he would be running around like a ninja warrior again.

He likes me to sit by him and read.  I have read so much out loud my mouth aches.
