Cycled with kid half way to her destination. We saw a dead cat on a nearly abandoned road in a puddle of blood. Scooped it up carefully and laid it at the side of the road, next to a driveway of a farm. Guess it belonged there. The critter was still warm and soft. Now if someone misses it, they'll be able find it looking nearly intact.
The thought of it taking days for the carcass to wither away on that road (Only a few cars and tractors a day) did not seem right.
