Worked my ass off and finished terminating a 230KV/12KV transformer control panel and then after work helped two women who had run out of gas push the vehicle into a station.

It's nice to know there are good Samaritans out there on the West Coast.  ;)

Plenty of people will stop to help others, the news media just likes "if it bleeds it leads" better.

Drove to a near-by town where I have land.

grocery shopped
yelled at the PR (her words, not mine)
cleaned out clutter
Made arrangements for auto pay of the PR's computer from her checking account rather than ours

Read a couple hundred pages, watched half of a JFK assassination documentary (was strong special interest; has waned over the years)... and that's about it. Lazy day, really.

^Same, lazy day. Should be studying.

Drove to a near-by town where I have land.
Cool. Is there anything on the land?

Just some underbrush and the like.  It's lower than the surrounding land and quite swampy.  I own 1/4 of it, my sister owns 1/4, a cousin owns 1/4 and the remaining 1/4 is shared by 17 people.

We sold a smaller piece of land across the road at a loss just to test the waters on how things would go among everyone.  My sister and I are in agreement she has the final say for the 2 of us.  A company tested for oil/gas reserves in the whole parish about 3 years ago.  We've not heard anything on what (if anything) they've found, but I'd sort of like to keep it just in case I'm an oil heiress.  What will really bollox up the works is if it's not sold by the time my sister and I pass then our shares will go to the PR (less anything owing to the State of Texas for their support of my sister).  Some trustee will have to deal with it.

My main contribution/activity is paying the taxes on it.  My sister and cousin are on minimal social security and can't pay anything.  So I've just been paying it all rather than hassling with the other heirs.   :(
