I did my Saturday housework. Now the garage is done, I also vacuumed and mopped in there, adding that room to the weekly routine. I probably should have dusted in there too but maybe tomorrow. I didn't work outside like I planned to today because it was wicked hot. It's cooled off a bit now but I feel like I've done enough and I don't want to.
I dust my garage with a leaf blower.
I do have to mop sometimes, though. It's still a work space and I like a clean place to work. "Clean" being a term which is relative to the requirements of a project.
Sanding wood? Wow, very loose usage of the term. Measuring and layouts? I bit more like what clean actually means.
Preparing to reload a batch of ammunition? Clean means like we could set the bench up for a meal instead.
Our garage is more of a mancave. It does have some utility type things, but there's also a walk-in closet sized room off the garage with the hotwaterheater and most of the tools whatnots are stored in there, plus there's a shed outside for other garage type things. There's a pool table, darts, a stereo/sound system, seating, and the walls are covered with various memories and unique things Sugarbutt has collected over time. It had been neglected for years because of his health, but I never felt comfortable doing anything about it because that's his space and his stuff. Now everything is clean and there's fresh coat of paint everywhere, so I'm going to start cleaning it weekly like any other room in the house. I think the idea of me taking over that space bothered him at first, but now that it's done and looks so nice, he seems to like and appreciate it.
And yeah, someone could totally eat in there.
