Yesterday, during the night, the pain I was feeling really seemed to become unmanageable.I tried for hours to find a way to sleep. Finally, I had to admit that being off pain meds was not working. I was fine for a week, until I fell on a metal folding chair. At two AM, I went to the emergency room and sat to wait my turn after a gunshot and a major car accident. Finally, around five AM, I had my turn at one of the X-Ray machines. They confirmed that I broke two of my lower ribs when I fell.I have a center torso brace I will have to wear for a month or so. I really did not need this major setback in my recovery from hip surgery. dawg, I'm sorry for your pain. Can you exist with pain medications, or do you need to quit?Yeah, I have used them almost constantly - I have for over three years now (so, yeah, I need to be off them and finally eliminate the fog), getting through physical therapy, trying the muscle development route to avoid surgery. It did not work. I still had to have both my hips replaced (almost exactly a year apart), due to previous injuries. Doc showed in the X-Rays that my right hip had been fractured four times during my life and I kept on walking on it, despite the pain.I was on the home base run after this last procedure, getting off the meds, finally. Walking upright like a healthy man again, barely using the cane, and mostly, only in the mornings! Falling onto a metal folding chair and fracturing two of my lower ribs was NOT a part of the plan.

It sounds as if you have had a lot of fractures. Are your bones unusually brittle?
I am taking a break to postwhore and eat lunch.
