The mosquito I killed before she could bite, brought accomplices. Now my index-finger has been taken advantage of.

  Poor bovine.  Mosquitoes in my apartment grow feeble and they are easily killed and die empty of blood.

Mosquitos are horrid little bastards; not even a mosquito's mother could find the little shits attractive

Even worse are those asian tiger mosquitos (Aedes albopictus IIRC), invasive with little competition here in the UK, aggressive feeders (only the females bite however), good at escaping from the Giant Fist Of Death(tm) due to their speed, and they are vectors for a whole slew of horrid arboviruses, including dengue fever, west nile virus, various parasitic helminths, chikungunya virus amongst quite a selection of other particularly unpleasant viral diseases.

I've seen a few in the house although never been bitten.  They might be quick off the mark in feeding, biting and flying away, but not fast enough to get out of the way of a can of aerosol bodyspray with a cigarette lighter hovering in front

That had to fucking hurt.

Definitely make a fuss though, about that history of stomach cancer, ask for a referral to get a MRI done, and get a biopsy taken to rule out cancer. Don't take 'no' for an answer. Docs can be bloody stubborn at times even in the face of common sense and obvious need.


I'm still trying to get a referral from my GP (who isn't, unlike many drs I've seen up himself, I count myself lucky to have the dr I do, he is a compassionate guy, and really knows his stuff) to another pain clinic.

I saw a pain specialist already once, after waiting months, and months and months and months more, the guy was worse than useless. Basically took my medical history and then spent the rest of the appointment yammering on about how I would only come back in two weeks and tell him that the drugs aren't working, they are addictive, cause tolerance and dependency and that he wasn't going to do a damn thing to help me and never was.

Guy just totally wasted my time. I KNOW opioids cause physical dependency and told him so. I've been on one or other painkiller for at least a decade and will be for the forseeable future. Until my joints are fixed if ever; I can't avoid physical dependency being on them that long, its just the price I have to pay in exchange for my mobility.

So I'm trying to get referred to a pain clinic at another hospital, so I won't have to listen to a pointless and deadly tedious lecture from the pompous crow fodder I saw last. What I want is something instant release, and potent, for breakthrough pain. As all I have for controlling my pain are OC80s twice a day, plus a topical NSAID spray (diclofenac)
And over the counter morphine/codeine/opium tincture etc (yes the morph cough mixture is OTC here, 20mg a 100ml bottle, but its an incredibly expensive way to get an emergency extra bit of relief, I'll usually use the opiate cough mixtures when I'm going out to manchester city center, as there are several pharmacies on the way there, and one can only buy a single bottle of those cough syrups at any one time)

All I want really, is for the docs to let me have something instant release and strong for when it gets so bad that my pain levels exceed what the oxycontin is capable of relieving. I've gotten physically stuck in town before because I just couldn't take another step without resting every couple of meters, in absolute screaming the fuck agony;

I got really, really lucky that day, in terms of getting home safely. I'd gone to the local head shop, dr.herman's, was my 27th b/day that day, and I was out of cash after getting what I came for, but the guy that works there is always giving me discounts and freebs of various kinds, and after realizing what a situation I was in, told me to take a pack of kratom extract and just pay him when I next came round. Once that kicked in it dulled the pain long enough to get back to the met stop and catch a tram home.

(Kratom is an opioid plant, a small tree whos keaves produce a mixture of alkaloids, including mitragynine and a hydroxylated derivative, amongst many others, some of which are pretty respectable opiate analgesics, legal almost everywhere apart from thailand and a few other countries round there. I'd quite like to get some young plants to grow myself)
                                                                                                                       

I had something that ate calcium from my bones.
Seems like the problem is low acid. The doc thought it was high acid and told me to take Prilosec daily. But I found out lemon juice straight works better, which makes me think low acid or some other deficiency in my gut. Papaya works too.

I wish I could send you some of the dilaudid they gave me. Narcotics make me feel seriously ill so I only take them when I can sleep. The dilaudid worked for the sternum pain - before they filled me full of drugs I couldn't take a breath without pain. But when I got out of the hospital my friend just filled all the prescriptions and I used the dilaudid only once or twice. Where I used to work the pain clinics could get you a prescription for cannabis or methadone.

Today it rained. Rain is bad. Pain all day. It's good for staying awake.

So, there's me, on a mild housekeeping spree. Thinking I will check up on how dry the laundry is, after vacuuming the room.
Having done the room half way, I look up, to see it is all white and wet outside. Rain and hail, in abundance. At least I will have a very fresh laundry.

Buggering miserable  cold, wet and windy weather whilst I had to go out to pick up my prescriptions.

And when I actually went into the clinic to pick my scripts up, the receptionist seemed to think it was phenomenally important to take the time to quibble over weather I could have the bottle of gaviscon on one of my rx slips or not. Insisted on making me sit on my fucking arse waiting until a doctor had finished seeing a patient and nipping in in between appointments to ask them if they said I could have it or not.

Only in the end the pigheaded receptionist ultimately decided that since my actual personal regular GP doesn't work tuesdays,  that she was just going to let me go ahead and have it without fussing.

What in the name of blue fucking jesus was the point of that performance? that was just wasting my fucking time  while she decides its vital she checks with a doctor, and then as soon as that doctor IS available for a word the receptionist drops the zealotry and just lets me take away the styxbegotten scripts  without ever bothering to talk to a fucking doctor at all .


All over a bottle of liquid antacid. When I asked her if it was really so important as to raise such a load of aggravation, as it wasn't helping anybody, nor would it ever have. Silly cow was all huffy and selfimportant about it. Being a total jobsworth too.
