Alright- I got one.
Mom says "if you close all the windows you can turn the air on", then goes outside. There is a storm blowing in and nice cool breeze was coming through- no reason to turn air on. Then suddenly wafts of cigaratte smoke start blowing in and I HATE cigarette smoke, so I close the windows. Now it's hot, so I decide to close the rest of the windows and turn on the air.
Mom comes back in and start SCREAMING (literally) and yelling about me turning the air on- doesn't even wait to hear what I had to say, completely forgot she told me I could turn it on, goes around stomping, slamming windows open, knocking stuff over, screaming some more....Then she s like "the house needs to air out", and I try to explain there is cigarette smoke blowing in- not fresh air, but she is too busy screaming about menopause and crap.
So I said "You're an idiot" and went upstairs to my room. Of course she got even angrier, louder (etc), but no use reasoning, I tried to remind her of what she said- and to be clear I am not opposed to opening the windows, just didn't want to breathe second smoke for the 1/2 hour I was sitting there.
But no, she didn't hear anything I said except the idiot part of it- finally my bro comes out yelling at my mom to shut up because he is trying to sleep (2am here). She kept on yelling, then went to bed.
I considered going in, apologizing for calling her and idiot, and reminding her of what she said and why her response is 100% irrational, but she won't listen, so why bother? Maybe I will tell her tomorrow exactly WHY she was being an idiot.
Ugh.
