It already doesn't.  Our country is dying.  I don't think we can enact the reforms necessary to save it.  We need a significant restructuring of the Federal Government but the only people of any significance who want to do that prefer a religious dictatorship to any form of democracy.

Actually this winter is stacking up to be one of the most mild winters on record.
It has only been below 0F/-18C two or three times this year and almost no snow, compared to an average winter.

I'm ill  . It started with mystery chest pains on Tuesday (I just put it down to an uncomfortable bra). Then a wheezy cough and shortness of breath yesterday with a mild fever in the evening. Today the same but with a worse cough. And I've run out of covid RAT tests.

The fever part is annoying AF. I was cold today (on a 32C day), so I stayed in bed with a blanket and no fans on. Then I took some painkillers this afternoon, and once they started working I was boiling hot and sweating buckets. I've had the fever since Wednesday night now, which is a little...long?

There's already a do not travel advisory for the state of Florida, and other states in the south are likely to follow sooner rather than later.  It's ironic because moving back to Tennessee after six months in Michigan is the catalyst that made me go to the endocrinologist for the first time--couldn't handle both the pain of living in that backwards shithole folliwing two significant relationship losses (partner dumped me and my dog died less than a month later!) and also gender dysphoria.  Now I'm more attractive than I've ever been in my life, spending holidays with my significant other for the first time in like EVER, back to living up north, and watching the country I was born in burn to the fucking ground.  What a time to be alive!
