Man, I even try to combine trips like dump the handful of garbage, spritz the garden pots, find something to read and sit back down with a fresh iced tea.

Life just seems to get better and better with these small successes.

Kind of hurts to have an official appointment wimp out on ya.

I ended up going to get the shot anyway.

Cub's at backup care this week and she is far less a stickler for rules than the usual person. Thank fuck.

I guess I was also concerned about spreading any potential sickness at the vaccination depot. But they were very careful and sanitized everything multiple times, handed everyone medical masks with tongs instead of allowing cloth masks, made everyone keep their distance. A well oiled medical machine set up in a converted convention hall, processing people through at an efficient rate. It was kind of awesome to watch, actually.

Then it was just the eternal balance of exhaustion vs risk (of side effects, of cub getting worse, etc etc).

Yeah, I found the vaccination site well organized and prepared.  Just glad to get it done.  Carla had some symptoms post the 2nd shot, but they vanished after 24 hours.  Some chills and aches, I had some fatigue and aches, but, that all went away quickly.  I find it weird that Canada has opened its borders to vaccinated americans, but, we are not doing it for vaccinated canadians.  Phoenix commented on it on FB.

Maybe opening everything just yet is Jumping The Gun. I know we all want to get things back to normal.

You know when you instinctively stab the elevator button five times in hopes that ... Whatever.  I want to just STAND on the Normal Button and jump up down a bunch. I know it will help, if I do it right.

During my music business touring years, going into Canada was a nightmare. Canadian border security officers, "This will take a while. We have to record all the serial numbers of all the electrical equipment you intend to bring into the country. By the tiem they saw about a tenth of what it took for us to take our show on the road, thay just recorded the serial numbers of our guitars. 

Coming back was bad, too. US Customs were not happy to see us and made it clear we were a problem they have to face, made sure we knew we were interrupting something very important, like a German sausage sandwich, most likely.  "So just make it easy on both of us. Just show us where the drugs are and well be done here!"  Rude bastards, all.

I want it to all go back to the way it used to be as well, but my recent doctor visits made it "crystalline" that things are definitely NOT there yet.
Take the ten minute interview before I could even be offered a questionnnaire to fill out (which took much longer) as a sign that we all have much more work to
do before we can even figure out what normal is going to look like.

Had my first proper asthma attack in years a few days ago. Took me a few days to recover. No fun, especially since we went away for a few days to visit my sister. I hadn't seen her since before covid.

The vaccine side effects can be a pain.

Oddly, I have suffered none of any of the "bad"  whatevers from the shots or the infections.  Being cooped up was worse.

Yes, I coop myself up, but being forced to feels wrong.
