Whilst I like the smell of herb, I could well imagine that seafood casserole smelling pretty terrible.
Although better still than skunk, is a good quality hash whilst its being heated in a lighter flame to soften it and allow one to crumble it between the fingers to add to a nice big fat blunt or bong, when the block of resin actually takes flame for a moment, before blowing it out and quickly poking out any glowing ember, I have to say, of all smells, the smell of hashish being toasted has to be one of my absolute favourites.
Top few scents in the world-real nice quality hash getting toasted, a baking cherry pie, the smell of diethyl ether, the sweet, aromatic smell of CHCl3 (chloroform), bubblegum, and liquorice.
As well as the odd metallic and slightly bitter half-smell half taste that is perceived as being tasted from the INSIDE of the tongue, rather than the mouth itself, after receiving a shot of IV morphine, when it reaches the tongue from within the bloodstream. As well as the funky slightly metallic-ish, ethereal, minty scent of fermenting apples that chlormethiazole freebase has. That is just lovely, for some reason. And freshly picked mushrooms of some kinds, that dark, shaded damp and woodsy scent that some mushrooms have. Perhaps of all kinds, the smell-taste that comes off frying slices of fresh giant puffball, dipped in eggy bread batter and fried in butter, combined with the scent of well-roasted beef.
And bananas. Golden syrup, honey, treacle as well are just MMMMMMMmmmmmm yum!
Or the smell of processed opium or heroin when smoked. Not, as one might expect however, the smell of the opium poppy itself when bruised, or when the crushed pods are being boiled up for opium poppy pod tea, or raw opium poppy latex, I find the smell of any of those absolutely unbearable. To the extent I'd wear a gas mask and organic vapours cartridge fitted just to keep that smell out, its absolutely foul! yet the smell of processed opium being smoked is bittersweet and floral, whilst that of H has a similar flavour-smell to it but usually with a hint of vinegar from hydrolysis of the acetate ester. On the other hand, dipropionylmorphine after a bit of hydrolysis just tastes ordinarily bitter, but with a rank cheesy goatish kind of smell to it, from the propionic acid.
