  I haven't been in a hair salon in 8, 9, maybe 10 years.  :cbc:
Cutting your own hair is  :viking:

My hair hasn't been cut for 12 years.

How long is it now?  Is it waist length?  :orly:

I think it reaches my waist when I'm in the shower, where it's weighed down by the water and I've run my fingers through it to sort out any tangles.  When it's dry, it curls up and only reaches half-way down my back.  I don't think it'll get any longer; I seem to be at a stable equilibrium with hairs shedding once they're a certain length and being replaced by new ones.
I've not yet reached that state, albeit I usually decide that I'm aggravated with my hair and chop it all off before it really gets the chance.

You ever consider a haircut, Peter?

I don't DO mornings. They should be banned :P

I hate mornings, too. I hate waking up and I hate going to bed.

Same. And with my weird arsed circadian rhythms, I'm only ever in bed, or waking up at the strangest times.

And bah...I don't feel like being out of the house and at the docs for 10:40am today. But I need to pick up my meds. And I certainly do not want to be out in this crowseaten frigid icy weather either. 'sblood, I was out in it for less than 5 minutes just now, and my hands had started turning blue-grey its that sodding cold.

Why would I want a haircut when I have such awesome hair?

I wonder if I buy the cheaper off-the-shelf keratin treatment will any salon put the stuff in for me? Or are they only willing to do the treatments using their own overpriced stuff? (GK, Bhave, Coppola, Brazillian Blowout etc). Salons these days won't even let you BYO store bought hair colour, they make you use theirs :-\

for SCIENCE.  See if cutting off a few inches changes your hair's maximum growth length.

I think the science is settled on that one; maximum hair length is determined by the rate of growth and the length of the follicle's growth cycle.

wikipedia.org/wiki/Hair_follicle#Hair-follicle_cycling

For most people, their hair is likely to be as long as it's ever going to be after a few years of not cutting it; each individual hair only gets to grow for a few years before it gets shed.

The professional dye is less aggressive. And, they have to work with it a lot. That's one of the reasons why they don't let  you bring cheaper stuff. Some people dye their hair themselves, but buy the stuff from their hairsalon, for that reason.

My feelings are always being hurt.  I am uber-sensitive because of my condition-previously-known-as-Ass-Burgers.
