An old music acquaintance called a bit ago to invite me out.
I've done all kinds of favors for him over the years and I think he feels he still owes me. He does not.
He knows I had worked with Megadeth in the long ago past.
He wants me to come with him in October when they come to town. He's already got several tickets. I might go, but ... I was hesitating.
Megadeth was never one of my favorites, mainly because they couldn't seem to keep a band together. One fairly short tour we did, six stops, they had three different drummers. FUCK! My job depended upon my becoming familiar with the band sound and it was often different. Made my job difficult, instead of enjoyable.
They were all capable drummers and knew the music, but as a band, they didn't seem like much of a "going concern" to put it mildly. It was troubling.
I heard the line up and the opening act is the one I really want to see. It will be Five Finger Death Punch for the headliner, Megadeth (these guys are old!) and to open will be The Hu, FFS
Ever since I heard of this band I have wanted to see them!!! Not that popular, but imagine a Mongolian Folk/heavy metal band using traditional Mongolian instruments, along with all the typical heavy metal stuff. AND, opening for a heavy metal concert. About the best way to explain this band.
I might take the ticket afterall, just to see The Hu!
Five Finger is OK, too, though.
I used to joke with co-workers, holding up Mariah Carey Christmas album for me, "Here ya GO!" at BBY, making fun of my age.
I told them that I would buy a Christmas album when Fiver Finger Death Punch released one.
