Need to stock up a few canned goods, paper towels, cat food for this "pandemic" crap...but basically as someone that rarely leaves the house, eats out maybe 4 times a year, and doesn't attend social functions...I've been training for this my whole life.

Already had the tp bunker and even the masks...cloth washable, a few N95 molded masks, and one "gas mask" style for spray painting. :lol1:

I hope my mum manages to find some face masks before she visits my nan in the nursing home in the next few weeks up in Bundy.

I got my toilet paper lol. Today there is a staff member at Coles standing guard in the TP aisle making sure people only grab one packet.

I don't understand the toilet paper craze. Seriously, how long do they expect to hide from the world?

The world is going crazy. Wondering if the virus is actually worth it.

Well it's not me going crazy. I only bought my usual 4 pack of double length rolls which lasts me a few weeks
I've never in my mind ever considered buying TP in bulk, because I have nowhere to store it all.

Now it's turned into a bit of a class divide because only people who can afford it are greedily buying all the stuff in bulk. Meanwhile the people who can only afford to go shopping after pay day for a week's worth of stuff are unable to find and buy a single item when they really need it.
If that's not a sign of what would happen when a true survivalist scenario happens I dunno what is.

I get what you mean. TP is one of the few things I buy big packages of. I can store over 30 rolls, and it has proved to be handy over the years with all of a sudden over half of the family getting sick in the weekend. (Where I live shops aren't open every day. Not in the village, nor in the nearby towns)

My mom comes from a derelict place, so they always had enough food in the house to last them a few weeks. She only stopped shopping like that a few years ago.

No way I can go shopping like that without a car either. And I do t want to. Don't want to keep track of my storage of fooditems being still within expiration date etc. Life is complicated enough without that.
I can do upside down chocolate moo things!

What's hard to understand, is why people who can be at least somewhat prepared, aren't. That's why the stores get cleared out. A person could spend 40 dollars on peanutbutter and a lifestraw to have basic survival for a month. Sure, some areas of the country are more prone to natural disasters, but preparedness efforts here aren't very different than when we lived in an area with cold winters, where lengthy power outages and impassable roads were just as much a possibility. The only difference seems to be evaluating supplies at a different time of year.

Reading the Star Trek book "Picard".  Not impressed, the plot line is a bit of deja vu with a mixture of wtf and a dash of "did they do any research into the past story lines?"  I'm not impressed and it more or less convinces me that the franchise is dying a slow miserable death.

I spotted a semi-famous person, Turla Pitt, just randomly on the weekend. Aussies might know who she is.
