Fun with matches-in wiccan circles, coven members believe (for the most part) that such a direct attempt to force the will of another, the stereotypical 'love potion/love spell' type stuff is unethical, and violates the threefold law. At least, if it is directed at a specific individual. Acting in an attempt to draw the perfect person, without directing it a specific individual, a general 'call to ''mr/miss right' is usually viewed as another matter entirely. But if it did work, would you really be happy with yourself, knowing that you forced yourself on somebody you love or care for? I wouldn't. Even if I could wave a magic wand and both find my ex fiancee and bind her to me, I wouldn't do it. Track her down, sure, but I wouldn't lift a finger to bend her free will by any other means than my words and conduct towards her. I'd give almost anything I own or am to have her back, but precisely because I still love her as much as the day, first week we met and knew each other, that same day she threw me into a tree at the point of a paintball gun and stuck her tongue down my throat..even after more than 20 years, I wouldn't even consider doing anything that would or could force her hand. Because she is her own person, with the right to do what she damn well wants. (not afraid to use it either:)....fuck me, what a girl. I really would watch the world burn to be back by her side. haven't seen her since she was 14. But given the chance, If I could change things timewise, I'd have spent the rest of my life with her.
But to take from her that element of choice? shit no. In fact I'd kill somebody for trying. Why? precisely because that is what makes her, her, and what guides her hand in the path she chooses in life. To attempt to forcibly change that, it would be an abomination.
