  I'm less upset by it now when it happens, because I know my brain needs that fixation point,
  and will manufacture one if necessary.  So just because I do worry about that little thing, that doesn't
  necessarily mean I should.  I've been dealing with this, off and on, for 20 years as of this very month.

You should.

My truck is a bit of a low mileage prima donna so fun is cruising and the occasional load of dirt or mulch, but SO has a little red 4x4 tracker we share. Wheelbase is about the size of a Jeep.

The "tomato" (as it is dubbed) can be a truly radical amount of fun.

Adding a beater car to an existing policy for a new car probably wouldn't be much more, if anything at all.

Registration is the real doozy, they don't care about how many vehicles you have or what they are.

Less coverage needed for the beater.

When it dies, part it out and sell the rest for scrap.

It also attracts a different type of "fanboy" in the parking lots...typically ones that like mud.

Today I got a text from my brother;
"Today I jumped off NZ's tallest building. photos to follow".

I texted back;
"We care about you Shauny, please call Lifeline before attempting again"

Not really, but my morbid mind put it in that context . He was doing the SkyJump off Auckland Tower.
