When I was a kid, I literally could not eat green peas and I would refuse. I had to STAY until I finished them. If my mom had not given in, I would look like that.
If I ate peas, I threw up within five minutes or so.  NOW, I love them, but as a kid it tasted like I was eating vomit. I could not take it.

I do. I like a lot of other types I just don't like peas on their own. I like them mixed in with things (I add them to my Indian curry) but I don't like them individually. It's a texture thing.

I do. I like a lot of other types I just don't like peas on their own. I like them mixed in with things (I add them to my Indian curry) but I don't like them individually. It's a texture thing.

Makes sense.

I love the texture of canned green peas. I do not like the texture of frozen green peas. But, mixed in, I may even prefer the frozen ones.

Actually I love them, now. Enough so that I invest a great deal of effort to prepare an eight foot bed to grow them every spring and fall in my garden. I have some about knee high now. (did you know that many varieties are somewhat cold hardy? YES, I am usually harvesting fresh peas after the first few hard freezes) I know it does not sound like much of an investment to someone with a large garden, but my garden is very small. I grow multiple varieties to extend the harvest period.  I get what I can out of my city garden.
They no longer taste like vomit to me. I generally start picking them when they are immature, like snow peas.

Actually I love them, now. Enough so that I invest a great deal of effort to prepare an eight foot bed to grow them every spring and fall in my garden. I have some about knee high now. (did you know that many varieties are somewhat cold hardy? That's very impressive. I've always wanted to have my own vegetable garden but I'm no good at it. I don't have any innate knowledge or talent. Plus I have two massive dogs who have an all natural diet and they would view it as a self serve salad bar.
