Thinking that Prague was a friendlier place last year.

It's happening everywhere and it's not a good thing.

The US is a fantastic country but it isn't all there is.

What I find hard is how politicians think they can just implement what they like, in a different setting. It is like doing a cross-species transplant. One cannot just take one thing from a culture and implement it in a totally different culture, just like that. And then hope it will not change what works well in that culture.

What I find even harder is how people inject American expressions in their everyday speech. They are killing their language and not even caring.

And, of course, the Americanisms, the poorly translated expressions, especially those by sports journalists (who should all be killed to save whatever little there is left of our written language).

I should start a thread about sports journalism.

What kind of American expressions?

Has anyone else noticed that the horse in the Amish Drive-by newsbox thingy looks like it's wearing thigh high boots?  Almost kinky.

I am out of debt except for my home mortgage.

I am almost out of debt.

Did I remember to mention that I am out of debt, except for my home mortgage.

Yup, I am thinking about that a lot this week!!

Did I mention that I am almost out of debt?

I am excited and happy.  I am not sure what I am going to do with all this extra money.  (NO, not enough extra to create a foundation, but my kids' education may go OK.)

... but then, if I could sell this property for half its market value and go looking for a place in the woods ... ... ...

It has been a good year at my house.

Some/quite a few claim to be so clever.. yet, I think.. they're as much so arrogant as they are stupid.

Well, mostly because I can't be arsed but also because the whole thing annoys me.

Be generous, and spread them at work.

Thought you were saying, not going there, is one of the expressions. Can't be arsed, is an appreciated new expression picked up from the English on the internet; like it.
