Wondering if I should make some solar panels out of
these scrap cells and mount them on the roof of my garage. Glasgow only gets 1,243 hours of not very intense sunshine a year, but those cells work out at about 17p per watt-peak (obviously more than that to construct a housing and wire them together, and I'd have to match up similar-sized fragments for each series string in a panel to avoid excessive current loss from the cells being different sizes, and grid-tie inverters aren't cheap), and our electricity bill is something like £700 a year.
