I get the feeling that I'm going to age gracefully.  My mum has very few wrinkles and just a few grey hairs at 64, my dad smoked like a chimney for most of his life, ate crap and never exercised, but has kept his hair and didn't go grey until his mid 50's, and my mum's older brother is balding but still has the colour to his hair.

Waggy woke me up at 3am last night to get me to lift her onto mum's bed and put a blanket over her.  She'll let mum lift her up if I'm not available, but she's much happier when I do it, and she settles better; sometimes she'll jump back off mum's bed after mum has lifted her up just so that she can get me to lift her and tuck her in.

I wish I'd had an overprotective father growing up.  Or a protective one.  Or one at all.  Or any semblance of decent parenting, ever.  God the weather needs to get better before my head sticks permanently in emo.

I wasn't allowed to date until I was 16 and I had to be home by 11:00 PM until I went to college, which was when I was still 17.  I thought that was kind of overprotective.

Still, I'm glad that I had two parents that both cared about me.  Now that my daughter is 15, I wonder if they saw me in the same way when I was 15.
