There's something to be said about maintaining a state of mind. 

Mentally it is very important to stay young, no matter how much the body betrays.

I prefer it for the lack of importance.

Since PA has had ankle surgeries he now wears a 13 or 14 Extra Wide depending on the shoe.

One ankle is fused and he has a very slight limp.  (Funny that he had to have that ankle fused twice because he broke one of the pins before it had completely fused.  Go figure.) But he's quite active, mows the lawn, walks each day, bitches, moans, whines and complains, etc.
