Some women are so pretty at a slightly "chubby" size that it would be a waste of their beauty for them to lose weight.
Kate Winslet is one such woman IMO, and so was Marilyn Monroe.  :)

Kate Winslett is the best looking actress of today.

Think it is I2 of old? Even Odeon is not so delusional as to think otherwise. He may on occasionally pretend otherwise but his base is that knitting circle.

I find that insulting to women who are naturally skinny.

And just how many of the current models are as naturally skinny?   I am sure not many.  How natural is it to see ribs and hip bones as much as you do now? It's not healthy

Marilyn Monroe was voluputuous.  Marilyn Manson on the other hand  :puke:

I'm guessing most of them.  I know a load of people who are just naturally skinny.  Also, how many models do you actually know?  Only the thinnest ones are highly publicised just to show how eating disorders are rife in the fashion industry.  I, however, used to be obsessed with models and can tell you that it's false to assume that all models are skin and bone.

It's insulting to say that that's how women are "supposed to look like".  Women are all different shapes and sizes.  Whether they are skinny, curvy or overweight - it doesn't matter; they're still women.

This is how a lot of artists used to paint women.  Now i think they do look

a bit fat!

Is that why they were so 'covered up' in the olden days?

More likely they were "covered up" because it was a more modest age.

I don't really care either way about weight, but there is a lot of pressure towards models to become skinnier. This was not just pointed out from certain places, but other people aswell ie. the photographers. So in that sense, I personally disagree a that a lot of models are "naturally skinny".

I personally think there are numerous practical reasons for skinnyness in the model industry, mostly due to ease of airbrushing and photographing. Photographing a fat person will be more difficult due to increased mass causing more trouble for lights (rolls causing shadows etc.), needing wider lenses which will distort features and so on. It'll also be difficult to photoshop since you'll have to clone out all the distracting shadows etc.

Fuck the modeling industry. It's nothing but a destructive and superficial waste to society which causes nothing but pain, jealousy, misery, and vanity.

I much rather see real pictures of real people than some 2-bit photoshopped whore. :orly:
