For being smack dab in the middle of a tiny little village patch it is blissfully quiet here at the new place. No highway noise...no semi's riding the jake brake at 7:00 am, no 3:00-4:00 am convoy of frack trucks, no loud motorcycles screaming up the road...crickets, an occasional boat horn from below, a soft train whistle and a few lone barks from the two dogs a few houses away.

Spent the afternoon and evening in a meeting with a client and their partner who is paying us. What was especially interesting was how everyone lied. The client, the intermediate who is contracting us, and us. It's like a bloody Kurosawa movie.

I kept wondering why we do this. Does everyone see what I see? Why are we even doing this?

The son is travelling to his uni again in a week's time. He's going to need to spend two nights in a hotel, alone, a first for him, and I am wondering if I should go with him. Or should I trust that he can take care of himself?

This was yesterday. I was stopped in traffic behind a mobile detailing service van, which was incredibly dirty.  :lol1:

It's a public holiday here but it appears that the business next door didn't get any time off because they arrived at 8am, same as usual.
