Maybe try making them both without the seasoning packet, and see if they taste the same.

You can't exactly do that with the cup noodles, as the flavoring is already in it.

ug. I can't eat that garbage  :M

Ironic how that comes from someone who LOVES the taste of manjuice. :orly:

But by far, the cup noodles are far better than the noodles in the bag. And they are still dirt-cheap at 28 cents a cup.

throw a handful of frozen vegetables and a stirred up egg and you have a nice soup.  Maybe some leftover chicken or beef?

Egg drop soup, yum, haven't had that in awhile.

You're mighty fussy for a guy who eats 28-cent microwaveable dried noodles in styrofoam cups.  :zoinks:

There's a chinese soul soup in New Orleans called Yat Ka Mein (Ya Kat Mean, Yat Kat Mine, etc) that is basically ramen type soup with some cooked diced chicken or beef, a diced hard-cooked egg, some peas and carrots, green onions and some spicy seasoning.  It is really, really good.  Almost every (hard to find) restaurant that serves it makes it a little differently because it isn't something you can open a can or packet and reheat.  Oddly enough when you cross the Orleans Parish line it is really, really hard to find.

That sounds good. Especially compared to the diarrhea that Pantygram prefers.

I do not eat diarrhea. I just said that egg drop soup with the ramen noodles in a bag sounded like a recipe for it. Any other kind of noodles and it might be fine.

It does sound good. I'll bet they serve it piping hot! What do they serve with it?

Just that, in a quart plastic container.  It's a meal in itself.  Coca-Cola or beer goes well.

I've never cared for dropping egg in my soup.  My mom used to ask when we wanted something outrageous, "What do you want?  Egg in your beer?"

"I do not eat diarrhea" would make a good campaign promise in the next congressional election.

I like the ramen from the bag cooked with fresh vegetables like spinach, thinly sliced carrots, and snow peas and thinly sliced leftover beef or chicken.
