My security software blocked one of my regular sites.

I have Trend Micro Security Pro software, and it just warned me that a gossip site I've visited regularly for over a year
might be harmful to my computer. I sure hope I haven't been loading my computer with harmful stuff all this time without knowing it.
Has anyone else had the experience of security software suddenly blocking a site they've been visiting for a long time?

Yes, it happens with some paranoid AV programs sometimes.

Speaking of that, some dodgy thing calling itself "AVG Windows Security" or something like that has been posting
urgent warnings that my computer is dangerously infected and I must download a program to clean it.
Trend Micro blocked me from doing that, though, and odeon has told me that the "AVG Windows Security" was
actually a fake, trying to trick me into downloading infected software. So    Trend Micro for that!

Adds most likely a lot are scams also

That's why I use Adblock and Noscript - eliminates two massive attack vectors.

yes i have had it happen before,  over zealous anti virus.   i wouldnt worry unless your computer is
playing up  -  or if it keeps redirecting your searches
