I hope this thread has not resurfaced to attack your kid, MLA.   I think he is great and should be left out of things.

Besides you supply enough material on your own to warrant an attack :hahaha:

Seriously i am glad he is doing well.  The urchin was four when he started talking.  Well he did say "again" when he was three but that was all we got out of him for a year.  He has not shut up since.  He has the most advanced language now, way above his classmates.  However,  he is immature and way behind in other areas.  He is also on the verge of exclusion.  He is a gobshite!

I dunno if it is true, but i heard Einstein didn't talk until he was seven.

Thanks Bodie.  I wouldn't put it past the current lot to try and attack my kid, since learning from other's mistakes doesn't seem to be in their repertoire ;)

Projecting again. My point is you pick on people you deem "retards". Do you not see the irony that your special needs son is going to get the very same treatment you dish out? You seem to enjoy picking on easy targets. You are 36 going on 12. So much for your oath of civility, manchild.

He is two, and non-verbal.  Don't know about AS yet - we are just starting him on speech therapy next week  :(

Quoted for posterity

D'oh lol, I thought this was MLA! I was gonna ask how his son was doing now with things

He is doing awesome, thanks.  He started speech therapy when he was 2 1/2 and when he turned three he entered head-start preschool 4 mornings a week.  It has been a year since he started and he has really blossomed there.  Was the best move we ever made :)

I'm glad he's doing so well now.  I think speech therapy and preschool can really help a lot.

G'day Callaway, where you been?
I2 today is not i2 of yesteryear. It is a knitting circle. Those that participate be they nice or asshats know their place and the price to be there. Odeon is the overlord

.Benevolent if you toe the line.

Think it is I2 of old? Even Odeon is not so delusional as to think otherwise. He may on occasionally pretend otherwise but his base is that knitting circle.

Censoring/banning/restricting/moderating myself, Calanadale & Scrapheap were all not his finest moments.

How to apologise to Scrap

G'day Callaway, where you been?

Hi Sir Les.  I have been having knee problems and decided to do everything possible to make the muscles supporting it strong enough that it would stop hurting so I have been spending a lot of time in the gym lately.  It didn't work out quite the way I hoped, but I'm much stronger now.

 That is good Callaway. Sometimes it takes much longer than we want to heal. Hopefully it will heal completely.

Nope.  You don't know anything :)

Just to be clear. You do not see that as ironic? The very thing you do to people who are slightly lower functioning than you will be inflicted on your son by other assholes just like you?

Do you think that's funny or something? Help me understand, here.

You're right.  It may never completely heal the way I want it to, but I want to give myself the best chance I can.

Speech delay does not equal "lower functioning".  He is almost completely caught up and has zero evidence of any ASD.  He has been evaluated by three separate specialists.  By the time he is in kindergarten he should be indistinguishable from his peers, except that he will have had three extra years of pre-K education.  As he can already count to 100, recite his alphabet, and spell certain words he is actually way ahead of most kids his age who aren't receiving special ed.

Then there is this:

My child's speech delay resulted in 3 years of pre-k education fully paid for by the state, at a savings to me of nearly $30,000, which will continue to pay off for him for life.

But let's say he does end up "lower functioning" ... he won't be spending his time whining about it online.  He already has great self esteem and that will only get better through active parenting.

Well I didn't ask for a bunch of personal information, but that's pretty cool. I asked you if you cared that your kid would be picked on, like you love to do so much to others?

That's really nice that the boy is such a trooper and doesn't seem to be having any problems now, but he's young. I don't mean to say that he will develop problems at a later date, but this is certainly possible. You probably know this, but the masses do not like people who think differently than them. Deviations, no matter how impressive they may be in their own right, are normally frowned upon. By idiots. Idiots like you.

True.  Anyone who doesn't recognize that you are a special little snowflake is a major idiot, and missing out on all the glory that is you.
