Iz going to make (stinging) nettle soup today. Gathered about 15 tops of the plants (in a forest a couple of kms North from where I reside) and made fresh chicken/veggies/herb stock yesterday.

(Some) phytotherapists claim that drinking the nettle soup (or tea) could help in the battle against RA buggeries. It kinda helps the immune system fighting inflammations.

Never ever tried it before.. I'm curious how it tastes and if regularly consuming a cup of the soup does help a little.

Some phytotherapists even claim it helps 'coping' with autism but that's not my aim trying this diet change (i.e. including nettles into it).

Rinsing your hair with nettle tea is said to help beat it getting greasy too quick. Drinking the tea is supposed to make your skin beautiful.

This brings back memories of decades ago.

^ Starting to think the common nettle is quite an underrated 'herb' now. Makes sense (to me) to start using the plant on a more regular basis.

Next Spring I'm going to pick lots of fresh growth (top parts of plant) and basically 'treat' it like spinach. I.e. with respect..  ("

E.g. as a filling in a cannelloni dish (with ricotta/minced meat/fresh thyme/nutmeg/blah).. other pasta dishes.

Oh, the soup is nice too.

And the positive effect on skin and hair is a bonus (also).

The English variants are hilarious.

I thought the only real difference was accent and pronunciation and not something discernible in text format.  :dunno: Maybe the traditional version has lots of complicated chavvy slang.  :zoinks:

There are more English speakers in America than in Britain. They should be outvoted. :M

Dreamt a lot, including taunting an evil king. Was in a supermarket setting, we were all eating cookies. But I did not have the chicken flavoured ones.
The brother of the king was on our side. But one never knows if he really was a good guy, or was there because of career options.
We were getting back-up from my people. They were on their way, swimming across a massive lake. I could make out that they were, black dots (heads) started to get visible after crossing two third of the lake.
Despite the supermarket setting, the language and clothing was medieval.

The houseflies never revolted against their foreign king. :hide: They still can't vote. :M
