Let a child lie in that just a little too long, and the skin may be bleeding and inflamed all over. That is gross.
Not all kids react like that. But some are so sensitive that you have to be there within a minute, if you don't want to see a child bleed after pooping.

That was my daughter.  I always changed her as soon as possible and would never let her diaper look at all distended like those in the ad.

It seems sort of gross and trashy to advertise a diaper that supposedly holds in its contents so well you could let it go until it looks like those before changing them.

We had a coupon and tried Luvs once but for my daughter, who was very thin, they leaked more quickly than Huggies for Girls and at that time, they were covered in plastic which would irritate her skin while Huggies diapers had a cloth-like outer cover which was a lot kinder to her skin.

That was my youngest too. Some people commented on my haste to change her, saying I was over-reacting. A few of them saw the damage, and were shocked, they never commented on my haste again.

I'd get out of bed for that in the night.

But yes, diapers should be able to soak in lots of pee, so that a baby, and it's parents can sleep through all night.
