Read about the Taylor KO formula as it relates to handgun hitting power. I think it has validity. http://www.customsixguns.com/writings/common_sense_handgun_hunting.htm

Have you ever used any gun browning solutions?  I want to put an artificial patina on some new parts on old tools and have them blend in better one site suggested Dixie Browning Solution.

No, but Dixie Gun Works has been doing black powder guns etc for a while so that is probably a good one.

I recall that from Glock Talk a few years ago. I have a Glock 21, it is a pretty good gun I like my USP45 better for a poly framed 45. I had an XD 45 Tactical too but never warmed up to it. Are you going to get a 45 ACP ebf?

I'd like to, but probably not anytime soon. I need to get a good all-around rifle (probably a 30.06) and a good handgun that can take down a bear.

A 460XVR or 454 Casull chambered Super Redhawk can kill a bear and both are affordable production guns. 454 is so powerful that I have shot more through my 460 than 460 magnums.

That's what I'm thinking, a Super Redhawk in 454 Casull should work just fine. The guy I work for during the summer has a S&W 500, what a fucking cannon.

If you get the .454, then .45 Colt ammo would be great for target shooting, and .45 Colt +P loads should be plenty powerful for most uses.  :green:

If you're really concerned about brown bears, I'd get a Browning BLR and have it re-barreled in .458-08.  8)

You'd have to hand load for it of course.

I'd love to get into hand loading, I just don't have the space or the time to do it.

It only takes a small desk as far as needed space.

A small bench, in the garage, that's attached to the wall works best.

My reloading bench is weighted down will all my reloading components so it doesn't move either.

PPK, if you had to get into a fight, could you still throw a mean punch?   :boxers:

Yes, but unless someone really pushes my buttons it is not likely that I will get into a fight. That has not happened since the 1990s.

Have you ever played a musical instrument?  If so, have you played in a band?
