A meteorite hits Earth so that Scotland is ripped off the Britannic island and lands in northern Sweden. Now you have less rain but more snow.  8)

It depends. Do you like 9 months winter, -35 C and no sun for half of the year?

Sounds fun.  Beats heavy rain and no sun for 6 months of the year.
