Next house we want to move in a few years and are looking at more rural areas

For some reason I had pictured you living in a woodsy type area. Funny when you get an image in your head and then it's nothing like what you thought.

Next house we want to move in a few years and are looking at more rural areas

My parents did that. They ended up renting a log house and then eventually buying it. It's been my Dad's pride and joy to fix it up himself. They're on 2.5 acres for forested land (in GA) and an acre of it is cleared. The house has been a fun project for him.

I think most of the ruins are from a religious retreat but there have been many things there since the 1600's when the town was founded.  Its Charles Island http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Island  but a better name would be Rat and Poison Ivy Island
