One Small Step...
« on: October 17, 2010, 04:58:09 PM »
The local news reported that about a dozen students at a local high school were suspended this week for cyberbullying.  They were evidently freshmen and sophomores, thus the suspension.  The principal called their behavior cruel and unchristian.

At last someone is starting to take some action.

The news report didn't say.

Is there an article to link? It's strange for a school to take this action. Were they using the school's computers to do it?

If they were, then the school is responsible, and the students should have been punished. If it were their own PC's or laptops, then I doubt the school could really have done anything unless the teachers caught them in the act.

Here's what they are doing to stop cyberbullying in Massachusetts:

They are dealing with incidents involving their students as a school issue even if they happen outside of school property because it affects learning.

Here's another one where the principal suspended students for cyberbullying him and other staff:

I think it's unfair. if something happens outside school, it's none of schools business.

"Cyberbullying" is necessary. Don't be so PC.

Don't want cyber-bullying on a mobile phone? Don't fucking own one or don't let others know about it. Hell stay away from all the online social networking crap while you're at it, you're just asking for it otherwise.

But if it's too late and all else fails:

* Get your attacker shitfaced somehow, or stalk them at a party.
* Take embarrassing photos while they're passed out, doing something stupid/illegal.
* Publish them online for everyone to see, with bonus commentary.
* ? ? ? ? ?
* PROFIT!

That will fuck up their career prospects for years to come, because guess what? Employers sometimes google your name and other personal information to do their own 'background' check on you. :orly:

Edit: There's only one fatal flaw in that plan, that is the target may be stupid enough to do that to themselves with their own friends. In that case, make sure their employers can always find it very easily, and perhaps spread some disturbing rumours.

Existence actually has two broad meanings despite its apparent meaningless. The constant reconciliation of all its parts, and the conservation of any closed system as a whole.

Morality can be extrapolated from these meanings to make these two commandments of godless morality: 1). Be in harmony with one another and 2). Care for the environment.

It seems like everyone on the Internet is building up an immunity to cyberbullying or trolling. Oh man, it was so much fun... :-[
