When I first joined this site, long before I knew the politics of this place, a well established member who is only slightly older than me gave me some advice.

They told me that older members are treated with more respect, and will rarely be attacked. Of course, a younger member who is cool will also be treated with respect, but an older member will be defended no matter how much of a douche they are.

I find this to be true in the case of Steve. If he was 21 and behaved half as badly as he does now, I believe he would have been dogpiled out the door before his feet touched the ground.
His retarded manchild-like behaviour would have been ridiculed by most, and his crybaby tactics would have been derided by all.
He's 50, and has been treated in a way that people like Penty could only dream of. He bleats on about not getting equal treatment, completely oblivious to the fact that some of the people who were nastiest to Penty, treat him as a personal friend, and do their best to keep him out of trouble.

Whilst one or two of the oldre members may feel he is entitled to some kind of special treatment, I disagree. I will continue to treat him in the way that many, including himself, treated Penty.

Sir Les has been his biggest defender, but now even he is conceding that TCO's behavior is indefensible because TCO can't man up to his behavior, even AFTER his "meltdowns". I'm not sure who else has tried to defend TCO.

You're right about the hypocricy of TCO. He goes after the unpopular members with the most vigor and venom, but he chokes on a thimble full of the shit he dishes out by the bucket. Apparently, his biggest problem with bullying, is when he's not the bully.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that TCO's "meldowns" are little more than ego rage. He seems to have some kind of really weird Narcissistic, or other Axis II Cluster B, personality disorder. He rages on ego damage just like an NPD, but in other ways doesn't seem like a typical narcissist. He has some kind of weird mental issues going on in his head, and i really don't care enough to try to figure them out. :jaded:

I think it's interesting how you go out of your way to defend Penty but have not one tenth of that tolerance with TCO. Seems to me that you are doing the opposite of what you imply the site politics to be.

I agree, and I have a huge ammount of respect for Les' words on this issue. I think he has been very even handed.

I don't go out of my way to defend Penty. I have gone out of my way to praise Pentys recent behaviour, which I think is deserved. I don't think Penty needs defended at the moment, as his recent behaviour has done nothing to warrent attack.

I have also attacked Penty in the past when his behaviour has merited it, and on occasion, when his behaviour hasn't merited it.

I don't think Pentys current behaviour can in any way be compared to Steves.
