Couold someone with any intellect explain to me how someone could sue for libel over something posted on a forum?
Then we can go back to the icecreams and seagulls.
If someone writes something false about someone else that harms their profesional reputation, then that writer can be sued for libel.
If I write that Steve-O is a silly little girl, although that's obviously false, it does not really harm your reputation IRL, so it's not libel.
However, if I wrote something false about my daughter's special education teacher who abused her, using her real name, and got people who knew her professionally to read it, that could harm her reputation and her ability to earn a living, and I could be sued for libel. If I wrote that she put soap in my daughter's mouth and choked her, even though it's true, I could still be sued for libel and forced to prove my allegations in court. If I couldn't prove it and it seemed to the court that I was just saying this maliciously, I could still have to pay a judgement.
