I was giving the guy a lunch break who normally works "Asset Protection" (which means security), when I saw a guy come in the store carrying a concealed 9mil weapon.
I could barely see it, but it was a SIG!
I contacted my manager, who argued with me, until I had a decent camera shot of the person's weapon showing under his coat.
I was allowed to call the police at that point.
When four squad cars showed up and took the front door, then went into the store to investigate, they surrounded him and found that he was an officer from the county Sheriff's department, in plain clothes.
OK, so why did he not identify himself when he came into the store? I only saw the "gun" in his clothing and began our standard protocol for dealing with a weapon in the store.
I had him on camera every moment!
