Bleach is a good smell too.

It can be, with proper ventilation.  But never mix it with ammonia!  :police:

But that's how you get the interesting smells. :zoinks:

A smell that I miss is that first sniff of a mimeographed paper.  It was only good for one sniff, after that, nothing.

Bleach is a good smell too.

I like the smell of bleach when it touches the skin.

And the smell of tar brings back sweet memories, of a hot day, and my brother and I playing with molten tarmac.
My mother wasn't that amused that day though.  :tard:

Ooh, we did that, we had a "strip to your underwear in the garage after playing outside" routine. We knew how to get messy allover, shoes, clothes, hands, face. But this time it was tar, not mud or sand or soot.

If that's all you remember, it must have been the good stuff. :stoned:

Bleach is a good smell too.
I used to water mushroom trays after the mushrooms were picked, chlorine used to be set up at 200ppm (parts per million). Doesn't sound like much but I used to have to wear a heavy duty mask and raincoat. My hands probably ended up sterile every time though.

Smelling too much bleach can give you symptoms like you have the worst hay fever. I used to get that if I tried watering at work without a mask. Not worth it.

Ergghh.

I HATE the smell 0f NaOCl/HOCl. Oddly I don't so much mind the smell of chlorine gas itself. By the time it gets to a sufficient concentration to smell nasty, its more than enough to drive one out of the area due to its irritant effects, at least without a mask on.

The stench that comes off the 4-gallon drum of industrial-concentration hypochlorite solution when I have to pour some out into a container is something truly heinous. Makes my insides lurch every time.

(I use it for generating Cl2 gas, by mixing it with fuming conc. HCl, which works really well; the combination spews off chlorine fit to gas a WWII trench)
Beyond the pale. Way, way beyond the pale.

Those are all lovely smells. I am particularly fond of the old book smell.

DD--that's an *awesome* sub setup.

Yeah.

I suppose that you can also see that I am never satisfied and I am still exploring, even at my age.

In my back yard I have a four hundred pound twenty eight cubic foot enclosure that should do a fine job of activating the back yard with awesome sound. (I think I mentioned it is a five way).  Dual eighteens, dual fifteens, dual twelves, single four inch horn and dual super tweet bullets. It is tri-amped - the twelves and horns are on one signal above twelve hundred Hz (crossed passively, three hundred watts per side).  The lowers are all crossed electronically, using dual DbX . Two thousand watts on the eighteens and an additional two thousand watts on the the fifteens and one thousand watts on the twelves plus the three hundred watts on the uppers.

Only thing I regret at this point is that I did not build into the system a motor with which to move the enclosures around to get the best sound.

 :autism:

... but see. I am still exploring.

Bleach for household cleaning is recommended at one teaspoon per gallon, which is 65ppm. It's not an overwhelming smell, just smells clean.
