To me it seems as if everyone is dying.

... and most of we Americans bathe ourselves almost everyday.  Letting our stinky butts go for one day is bad enough, but going three days without washing?  WTF!!

I think it's a military thing to shower every day. My granddad started to shower daily in 1945, after he left the army. Back then many houses in Sweden didn't even have running water, but my grandparents got themselves a new apartment after granddad left the army.
