Good grief. It's no wonder why I hardly ever post here. This moronic war between the posers and elitists just keeps going on and on. But in my opinion, the only difference between the two groups is the specific bands/genres they listen to.
Both elitists and posers are guilty of these things:
-Listening to the most terrible music ever made, be it mainstream and underground, and thinking it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
-Ignoring bands with actual talent.
-Irrational hatred towards bands that do not meet their specific criteria.
-Irrational hatred towards others who dislikes the listener's favorite bands.
Grow up, kids. Your close-mindedness is not going to help the metal scene in any way. Believe me, you cannot force others to listen to what YOU like. You can only hope that they will at least hear you out on what you like and why you think more people should like it.
I'm just rambling on. To be honest, I dislike most of what gets classified as metalcore, black metal, funeral/drone doom (I am a big fan of doom metal in general), power metal, groove metal, and death/grind core. MOST. It takes a really good example of those to get me to listen. Those with actual music writing ability. These genres are notorious for the lack of it, hence I tend to shy away from them. And maybe they are just not in my tastes.
Only when the unjustified anger and hostility terminates, is when we can start achieving progression. In other words, why can't we just GET ALONG?

It's no wonder the Metal Archives has a bad reputation among even other Heavy Metal forums. Everyone on there is full of SHIT! Sure, I found a lot of great Doom Metal bands on the database, but the forums really do suck, especially since I got permanently banned just for telling everyone that they should stop fighting over stupid shit and get along. It's kind of hard to be on a forum where elitists and posers constantly bash each other and anyone who tries to break the fight are considered trolls.
