Yeah I do have to agree that LSD isn't in the same ballpark as Cocaine, Meth, Heroin etc.

May not kill, but it can fuck you up pretty bad. One of the side effects is hallunations and delusions of being Superman or some such. plenty of cases were reported of people 'tripping' on acid actually jumping off buildings thinking they could fly.

I take LSD regularly pricisely for the hallucinogenic properties. Never thoguht I could fly. There are a handful of cases of people jumping from buildings, but I'm sure many many many more people have jumped or fallen from great heights whilst drunk.

Stop exagerating. Provide sources for your mis-information. Or please, GTFO.

*Cant fly

*Can't swim

*Cars are real

Heroin? LSD? ICE? Crack? Cocaine? Meth?

Pot is the start, the other addictions and deaths follow.

Slippery slope fallacy of logic

What fallacy?

Don't you know almost all alcoholics started with milk early in their life.

i drink milk on a regular basis, my brother how ever hates the stuff and is an underaged alcoholic and smokes weed on a regular basis. i do neither... who drinks what does not matter in my personal un-educated opinion. kids do things because they want to. the reasons why are often stupid and irrational but they are still reasons. to be brutally honest i think drug addiction is not just because of factors such as the slippery slope logic, pot is only the gateway drug because it is more often then not laced, unless you grow your own supply. that is the slippery slope right there. pot in itself is only psychologically addictive, as in all in your head. how ever if laced with even a small amount of crystal meth, which i believe has a 90% addiction rate or higher on the first try then your addicted to crystal meth. you do different dealers, you get different shit, be it E, Crystal or Crack. THAT is why pot is the gateway drug, not because it opens up the thought pattern but because your already addicted when you get access to the stuff

Nope. I actually started with alchohol that hard broken glass shards in it, and was on fire.

You're an idiot. Its already been proven with tons of different experiments that there is no gateway drug. Its just a smoke screen used for elites to make TONS of money off the general populace.

The only way pot can be a gateway drug is because of the social setting it is sold in.

Make it illegal, and the place you can get it is the same place as where you can get harddrugs. And if it is equally illegal, and in the same scene, pushing hard-drugs on a cannabis user is easy.

Sell it in a social open setting, like a "coffeeshop", and that problem is gone. The benefit, of having legal selling in a nice environment is also that people are seen and known. People who might wither away when getting the drugs in an illegal setting, now can sit down and play a game of chess.

Here some "coffeeshops" have quite a few customers who don't use cannabis come in for their coffee or tea.

that was my point, there is no gateway drug but it is easy to pin on weed as its often laced with things, in a car g2g

However, you're still an idiot for spreading misinformation on drugs. 90% addiction rate or higher when you so much as try crystal meth for the first time? That is the biggest load of shit, something I might have expected from TCO.
This brain could do with some more dimethyltryptamine.

I don't think pot is usually laced. It probably isnt laced, actually, why would someone add expensive drugs to weed and sell it as weed ? I've been smoking pot for 15 years and never got laced weed.

Why is it always those who are addicted to things that defend them the most?

Sure, drugs (insert your poison) aren't going to be addictive for everyone, however why play russian roulette? Is it soooo worth it?

Every long term user who I would classify an addict (ie; using regularly) defends its use as recreational. It is not recreational when it affects your relationships, your social life (ie; you need it to socialise or relax)...I don't care what anyone says.

I take dexamphetamine daily, on prescription (I'd be taking speed daily if I bought it from a guy on a street corner rather than picked it up from the local pharmacy), and my mum would be the first person to tell you how much better I am when I'm on it.  It loses it's effectiveness over time and I take a break from it every 1-2 months to reduce my tolerance, which is a somewhat unpleasant experience due to the neurochemical kickback, and I get mild cravings for it during breaks from it, but it's a price worth paying for the benefits I get from it.

I understand prescription drugs can be more harmful than so called 'recreational' drugs. I've never denied some people need medication. What I am against is constant self medication without dealing with the real problem that lies beneath it, that is the dangerous part.

Peter, I've seen people very close to me completely fuck their lives up and break the hearts of their families with both prescribed and recreational drugs. I'm particularly conscious of having watched someone progress through the stages of having an occasional joint, through the whole gamut of rehab. Not just that person, but a large majority of the people who started out with 'harmless' drug use and alcohol use for that matter.

I've had this debate elsewhere on the site before, I just feel very strongly about drugs as a crutch for some people, particularly the recreational type when used on a consistent basis. I will always feel that way, and that is one opinion I will never stray on, I am sure. I'd like to think I am open minded on some things, but not this issue.
