Awesome tattoo! Not really my thing as far as design goes, but your friend is a good artist.

I got my first tat about 14 years ago and never regretted it. In fact, I am getting more. And the pain is an odd pain isn't it? Not like any other pain I have had. The pain is a rite of passage.

Be careful it is addictive, and MAKE SURE your mate changes needles routinely in FRONT OF YOU, so you can see him/her do it.

If I were to get one, I'd get either a Caducius (sp?), a yin-yang symbol with a dragon or a pentacle (right way up, of course).

A five pointed star ("pentagram shaped") with the point facing up, is what I have on my right arm. I am aware of its Pagan, Wiccan et al origins, but it also loosely means "the protection of God" with the point facing Heaven.

I love it.

Did I forget to mention I decided it would go better on my stomach? I didn't really want it to be on-show, the idea of the tat poking out of a singlet or loose shirt in summertime made me cringe.
