Fuckin' casuals.

I like my games to punch me in the gut and knee me in the balls, damnit - Dwarf Fortress, ArmA, Flashpoint and so on. Fuck this regenerating health bollocks that that cancer Halo made popular.
Instead of spacing health stations or med kits about?   How about having a retry feature.

Could you rephrase that, I'm not sure what you mean.

Regenerating health makes games easier right?   So does a retry feature.   How about when games used to make you start over from the beginning if you died once?   The ability to save anywhere at anytime makes a game easier as well.

ArmA, Flashpoint. You die, back to the start of the mission with you. If you're playing on easy, you get one save and one save only - if you're playing on anything else, no saves.

It just depends on the type of game.   If you are just trying to be as difficult and hardcore as possible, saves and retries are not good.   I prefer a save anywhere type of game, where I can have multiple saves where I made different decisions in each (like a real RPG).   KOTOR comes to mind as you can have one Sith save tree and a Jedi save tree.   Can do evil shit on one and then be a total good guy in the other.

I prefer games with plenty of checkpoints. I'm not going to do the same thing 20 times pretending to enjoy it when it just frustrates me.

I usually don't like casual games, but Pop Cap makes some great casual games like Peggle and Plants vs. Zombies

I usually play on easy/normal because I can't be arsed. I also don't care for getting 100%/all trophies etc. Once I get to the last boss, beat him and see the credits, then that's enough for me.

Halo 1/2/3 is piss easy on all difficulty levels though.

I have beaten all of the Halo games, but usually at the default difficulty (normal, I think).   ODST was a bit harder, only because you weren't a Spartan and not wearing that armor... so you have no regenerating health or powerful shield.   That game kinda sucked imo.   The Halo games are somewhat challenging on Legendary difficulty, but not nearly as difficult as Gears of War on its highest difficulty.. or Ninja Gaiden on Master Ninja difficulty.

I did not know that you got an Xbox360 and beat Halo 3.

I had a 360, but I sold it because I was low on money. I'll probably buy one again so I'll have all 3 consoles.
