Your wife reminds me of my mum. She's an expert with food. Last time I saw her she'd made an orange and poppyseed cake with creamy icing. It was delicious.

Oh, I do order salt from the net quite often. Various sorts. Most spices are "OK," depending upon the spice.
But it is kind of hard to mess up a rock, so salt ships well.
