Gotta love the Memorial Day weekend and delayed trash pickup.

The curb finds for this week:


Glider chair & ottoman steam cleaned and in the living room already. Kiddo spent the evening in it playing Black ops, he says it's comfy. 


pop-up disc holder on the cd changer was stuck, estimated repair time 5 minutes...it came with a remote too.


Normally I'd pass on the chairs, but they where in great shape...set of 4.


clogged...unclogged and gave to neighbor.


at a glance cord rewind is stuck...need to look it over better yet.

How do you take this stuff?  Middle of the night, or in broad daylight?  People take stuff from my trash all the time, but I don't know if I am  enough to do it myself.

I normally go out broad daylight in the morning or in the evening.

If someone's out in the yard and looks, I always ask, I've never had anyone get nasty or say "no, don't take that", a few have even helped me load it up. I always thank them and go on my way.

I have a fairly regular route I stick to. You find you have certain houses that always seem to have good stuff setting out at certain times of the year. 

Alot of people are happier seeing it picked up by someone who will fix it, use it, or give it away to someone who can, then to watch it being thrown in the trash truck, they'll actually set it out in front hoping someone will grab it.

That's me.  I used to dumpster dive as a kid and my parents came down on my like a ton of bricks.  Still weirded out by the idea now, though I like being the one providing.
