The bottom of my kitchen sink.

A nice hammer with a makers mark and the date 1856 at a tag sale for $5

Edenpure heater.

Have 2 already...probably fix this one for the garage this winter, instead of wheeling one back and forth when I want to work in there.

They're not worth the price, they don't run on "pennies a day", but they are nice to warm up by after shoveling snow or when you just want one room toasty...and they're normally not hard to fix.

Sure they do if you only run them a few minutes a day :zoinks:

I got one for free a few years ago they do come in handy but I always get a laugh when they go on about how cheep they are to run on the adds for them

A Costco step stool.

Vintage al-la 1950's...rusty, ugly, but very solid.

It whispered "paint me" from the side of the road.

Probably some weird ass green color like my teapot...need to stare at it for a couple of days and figure it out.

My grandmother had one I used to sit on when I was little.

My vacuum pump, the one that pooped out on me yesterday and that I thought had gone to the great lab in the sky when I checked it this morning, first thing on waking up and getting out of bed to test it again, fired up as it should do and successfully pulled a vacuum. Still need to hook it up to my vacuum chamber and test the pressure to make sure it is working as hard as it can possibly manage but all the same, even not having done that yet I am so glad to see its still in the land of the living. Was bought for me as a birthday gift, and I've had a great deal of use out of it too, its seen me through many a vacuum filtration, many a dessication, distilled a fair few things and even made me the occasional cup (or flask, when they are new and haven't yet been baptized in anything non-suitable for consumption) of coffee, using a clean buchner funnel and filter paper to vacuum-filter coffee made from ground beans and meant for a cafetiere/french press (mine broke many years ago, and I haven't replaced it, because its just as convenient to brew it with hot water simmered in a pan then tip it into a clean Buchner funnel and connect the flask the funnel is in to the vacuum line, takes all of a few seconds to suck it through and strip the filtrate off for one cup of coffee, there is just a quick low frequency whirring hum and then a slurping sound as the last few drops of liquid get pulled from the spent grounds. I know, I know, its a lazy bastard way to make coffee but all the same, it works, and its the quickest way I know to make coffee bar making it in advance and having one of those heated coffee pots keep it warm! (I don't defile my palate with the festering abomination that is instant coffee. Ew. That is just revolting. Might resort to it if I were near dropping dead of fatigue and stuck in shite weather in the middle winter miles from the arse end of nowhere but otherwise, fuck no.

A very nice Japaneses chisel along with a bunch of plane irons in a pile of junk waiting to get put in the dumpster in  basement of a house I was measuring.  It looked like junk but cleaned up well

I found out how bad my perfectionism is.  The washer and dryer are coming mid-week.  I spent an hour sorting dirty clothes (pinks, blues, darks, whites and towels) into separate piles and FOLDED each item before I put it on the pile.  Now I have the neatest dirty laundry you ever don't want to see.

You strengthen my idea that perfectionism can be the root of lots of unwanted and not needed things. This case not needed. But funny.

A shop selling caramel ice cream with daim bar chunks covered in chocolate. 3 quid a pot but for just less than a half liter, and mmmm....that was sooooo good! it barely had time for me to rip the top off before it was finished. Snarf, snarf snarf...MOOORE!!:D

That was some really fucking good ice cream. Will be buying it again in the future. Would do now, but the remaining money I have is earmarked for some Erlenmeyer flasks and I only saw the one tub there. But next time I get paid I'll get whatever they have to sell. And probably eat the lot in one session of delectable dietary sinning and gorge myself until stuffed like a gopher in a taxidermist's shop  (mentioning no particular gophers gar...I mean, names :P)

A weird rash on my ankle. Vibrant red, no pain, no itching, does not feel chafed, raised or bumpy. Just a bright red blotchy bit.

I found out it's Friday. I've been messing up my days all week and nearly forgot to drop the dogs off this morning.

It's smaller now.
Could not find anything in the cuffs of my  working shoes or socks. Nothing to be found in the leg of my trousers either.
Curious what triggered this blotchy band.

Were your ankles bare at all? Wondering if you rubbed up against something that you're allergic to?

Hope it was not some allergen at that height. I've been working with toys between playing toddlers on Thursday. Then those kids may have ended in rashes too.

It's just weird. No itching, no pain, no chafing. Almost looks like a whole band of very fresh hickeys, before the get that browner look.
