My sister and I knew one of us had this book.  I found it today while going through photos.  The Irish-English Primer or First Guide to the Irish Language, printed 1824.  Not worth a lot because I'm sure a fair number were printed, it's been re-covered, and my grandfather wrote silliness in it.  But one copy is in the Irish National Library.

I found a 2GB stick in my bag that Ceilidh gave me after she found it in the carpark at the shops. It is new - it was still in the packet when she gave it to me. Thinking I will use it for uni as I don't trust my old one very much (it is 7 years old). How long do they last anyway?

A long time. There are no moving parts. Given that the manufacturing process wasn't botched, they tend to fail in the same way as other electronic equipment, randomly.

Which doesn't mean that you should trust a single backup of your stuff. NEVER trust a single backup.

I still have my original stick from when I did Ontrack in 2009. It has so many articles on it. I am in the habit of saving my work to that, saving it to my computer and emailing it to myself. Once I didn't do that, lost my work and had to rewrite it. A nightmare.
