My Ping sucks.

This really pisses me off! My DSL service was better than this a few months ago! I am supposed to be getting 3 Mb/s, but as it shows, I'm only getting 1.87 Mb/s.

Pingtest.net says my line quality is a D. How insulting. I was wondering why my internet has been as hesitant as a goddamned 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme! 127 ms ping...

I noticed this when I was playing Forza 3 on Xbox Live a few days ago. My opponents were jumping and hopping all over the place (an apparent symptom of LAG), in every race. It was me and my lag.

Before I go and kick AT&T's ass and chew some bubble gum, I reset my modem and now I'm getting slightly better numbers, but still doesn't look optimal to me.




Still mad! Or butthurt as you peeps call it, I guess.  >:(

Well, after talking to some chick on tech support who sounded like she came from India, they are going to send out someone to check my outside lines and assess the problems tomorrow.

My download speed was 21.75 Mb/s and my upload speed was 1.92 Mb/s.

The Ping test results were Ping 16 ms and Jitter 5 ms and the line quality was B*.

I have cable internet too.

Just for the internet, it is between $40 and $50 a month, but we get cable TV as well.

My ISP sucks (which isn't news) with a rating of 2.5 stars out of 5. Even so, it manages a halfway-respectable 26 ms ping, which I suppose is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.   ::)

With  download speed so high, how come the youtube spam caused you so much grief? For some reason I thought you must have had internet probs if the youtube spam was causing issues.

BigPond. Although one of my sons has one of those Blink modems where Optus is the provider.
