Yes, near where I live, a boy about the same age who has AS was expelled from school because he brought a flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and pepper mixture to school.  The administration said that it was a "stink bomb" but if you added a little ginger, it sounds more like the dry ingredients in a recipe for gingersnap cookies to me.

Yup. Our grandparents had more freedom than we have. Nice development of "democracy".

It's a common myth in Sweden too that you can make some kind of bomb from flour, sugar and other baking ingredients. Someone probably confused it with potassium chlorate/sugar or "yellow powder", which is made of salpeter, sulfur and potash. A child cannot get hold of those chemicals legally today, and potassium chlorate was impossible to get for a minor even when I was a kid 25 years ago.

While I love fireworks I tend to respect them.  A few years back fireworks blew up on the professionals unloading them from the van.  One died and the other was burned over 100% of his body.  All this about 8 blocks from where I live.

Before that I was at a University event that had fireworks.  I was able to climb to the third floor of the closest building to the fireworks.  Stood on the classroom building outside walkway about 100 feet away.  It was awesome to feel the power that is in fireworks.  It vibrates your insides unbelievably. That is my one and only war story since it's the closest I'll ever willlingly get to War.

My brain is both uninhibited and uninhabited.
