I remember when it was the fashion to hear Dr. Pepper and drink it.  Mom said no to that idea, and I've thought about the amount of cloying sweetness being heated is certainly off putting.  Someone in anothe forum posted a hint for a chocolate cake:  One box of chocolate cake mix and one can of coke.  That's it.  Almost seems worth a try.
