duncvis:  Do you not go to pubs and try their ale from the cask?  That, to me, tastes a lot better than from a bottle.  And when you think about it, it's usually worth paying 50p or so more to enjoy it properly.

50 p for a beer?  ???The smallest strong beer in a Swedish pub costs at least £2. A 33 cl bottle in the liquor store costs about £1.

I remember when a beer in a German restaurant was cheaper than a beer in a Swedish liquor store, and the German beer was much better...It's this fucking EU making everything more expensive. A beer hasn't become cheaper in Sweden (at least not significantly) but a beer has become more expensive in Germany.

Occasionally; chance would be a fine thing, I can drink far more than I can afford at pub prices so I couldn't do it often anyway. In addition to that me and PI can't get a babysitter cos (gasp) we have kid(s) on the spectrum and nobody wants the job - and sadly the regulars at most pubs round here are varying sub-species of twat. I do like a pint of proper cask ale when I get chance though, but I'm happy to settle for bottled most of the time.

Don't feel too bad.  I can't get a babysitter for my daughter either.  She isn't even allowed outside at recess with other children anymore at school, since she pulled a little girl's hair.
