Dark nights without street lamps.

'sleeping' with open curtains. Making sleepless nights good too.
I can do upside down chocolate moo things!

Hippies

We had a real hippie sitting on the front porch with us one summer afternoon!  His car broke down
in front of our house, and in the 70s my mother was pretty welcoming to strangers.  He sat on our front steps
and chatted with us while waiting for a tow truck.  I think my mother gave him some water.  He talked about
a friend of his who "used to be an atheist, but now she's a Jesus freak!"  I told my mother about that later,
kind of tattling on what I thought was blasphemy on his part, and she wasn't even bothered.  She explained
that some people were just really fanatical about their religion.  I like remembering her that way.  :)

Speaking of my mother decades ago, I remember she said once that she thought it was a good thing
that she and my father agreed about the Vietnam War, because it was such a divisive issue (they were
both opposed).  She once said that if she'd ever met a young draft-dodger, "[she] would have given him
some money and told him to go to Canada!"  I like remembering her that way.  :)
